About Brunswick
In 1993, under the sponsorship of the Troy University, Fort Benning Site, the Brunswick Site was established as the Kings Bay Site at the Naval Submarine Base, Kings Bay, GA, offering the Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology. The Kings Bay Site became part of the Florida Region in 1995 and remained so until 1999 when the site joined the Southeast Region. Subsequently, the location was moved for one year to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA with a change in degree program emphasis to Criminal Justice. Brunswick, GA became the home of what is now known as the Troy University Brunswick Site in 2000 and two years later moved to the current location on Scranton Road offering additional degree programs.
The Brunswick Site continues to serve the areas surrounding the previous locations and beyond covering Coastal Georgia and other areas of Southeast Georgia. Our cohorts reach into Camden County where Kings Bay is located and the employees of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center remain part of the TROY family as students and instructors. Educators, Mental Health Workers, Business Professionals and Law Enforcement Professionals participate in our on-site courses and courses taught in cohorts throughout Southeast Georgia. Many local law enforcement professionals along with students whose career goals include law enforcement participate in our undergraduate and graduate programs in Criminal Justice. The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration brings students from all walks of life who are interested in career enhancement. Many of our students who begin with the Associate of Science in General Education degrees are working adults who are in college for the first time or who are returning after several years.
The primary goals of the Brunswick Team are to serve students and to assist them in identifying and achieving their academic and career goals. For example, we offer new student orientation workshops, assistance with success in online classes, and active and intrusive academic advising for our students. We continue to identify and address needs and issues that will entice new students and will enhance the academic success of students who are enrolled.
